The National Park "Ras Al Khor" in Dubai has got the status of a unique protected water area in the United Arab Emirates. It is situated in a remote corner of the Dubai Bay and occupies a territory of 6,2 square kilometers. There are 266 species of fauna and 47 species of flora which in wild nature are in danger because of the changing temperature and geological conditions. Ras Al Khor is also one of the few protected territories recognized as an important habitat of birds by the international organization Bird Life International. The flamingo, considered to be a wonderful peculiarity of the reserve, attracts especially ecotourists. |
