Beginning from this summer, smoking in the restaurants and the bars on many ski resorts of Switzerland will be prohibited. The smoking ban is already in force in many bars of Switzerland in the canton of Valais, for example, in Verbier, Zermatt, Saas-Fe and Kran-Montana. The citizens of this canton have voted for the smoking ban last week. One more canton, Ticino (the Italian part of Switzerland) has already prohibited smoking in restaurants and bars.
In France smoking in pubs has been prohibited since the 1st of January this year.
It is supposed that the smoking ban will be introduced in the other parts of the country. In Geneva the voting concerning this issue will take place at the end of February, soon this problem will be discussed in other cantons too. The resorts of Grindelwald, such as St. Moritts, Davos and Klosters, probably will also introduce the smoking ban very soon. |
