The scientists are going to reveal the exact date of the appearance of the most ancient constructs of the Stonehenge - the double rock ring. The work will be continued for two weeks.
Already during centuries the scientists guess about the predestination of the amazing construction in the southern England. Some of the suppose that the construction was a temple to worship the ancient gods. Others think that Stonehenge is an ancient astronomic observatory. Third ones think that it is an ancient burial place.
In the 90-s there was already an attempt to reveal the age of the first constructs. At that time they have determined that they are edified approximately in 2550 B.C. But the exact date remained unknown.
It is worth to mention, that one of the most famous sights of the Great Britain, Stonehenge - leaves most of the British inhabitants indifferent.
This ancient rocky construction in Wiltshire has even taken the first place in the negative rating. Among the Stonehenge, one of the dull places of the world, the British people have named the Eiffel Tower in Paris. |
