The unforgettable one and half hours have spent 400 tourists exposed to the squally wind in the center of the British capital. That has happened because of the malfunction of the huge joy-wheel.
The representatives of the company, maintaining this popular attraction expressed their apologies to the people that have risked on the recent Monday to have a look at the British capital from the bird view and got stuck on the height of 135 meters.
The stop was caused by the malfunction of the mechanism that rotates the wheel. The stuck people have listened to the necessary instructions for these cases. They should have used the reserve stock that was located in every cabin - bottles with water, blankets and mobile toilet. After 90 minutes, the mechanism became functional again.
The joy-wheel, also known as the London-Eye has been installed in 1999 on the southern bank of the river Thames and till the February of this year has been bearing the title of the biggest one in the world. It is attended by more than 3 million of people yearly, mostly tourists. |
