In the northern part of Sweden a tree has been found that according to the experts is the oldest one in the world.
The scientists that have received the samples of the Norwegian fir for the research in the Miami laboratory in Florida tell that the tree is almost 8000 years old. It grows on the height of 950 meters above the sea level.
The local specialist tells that this fir is one of the first trees that grew up after the ice age.
Currently the oldest tree that is included in the Guinness World Book of Records is the 4768 years old tree. It grows in California. |
