The top management of the two American airlines - "Delta" and "Northwest" has approved the agreement about the merger on Monday. This could lead to the creation of the largest air transportation company in the world.
The capital of the new company that will have the name "Delta" is appreciated with more than $17 billion.
The merger, according to the management of the companies, will let them to compete more efficient on the air transportation market and to resist the consequences of the growth of the prices for fuel.
The decision about the merger should be first approved by the stock holders of the companies and by the anti-monopoly committees of USA. |
