2007 became the record year for the touristic sector of the world economy. According to the statistics of the World Touristic Organization (WTO), in 2007 the tourism in Latin America has experienced 5% growth in comparison to 2006. This increase became possible due to the fact that together both Americas - North and Latin have doubled their touristic growth indicator in the last year, having registered the 4% annual average growth in comparison with the 2% in 2006. The amount of travelers in 2007 has been increased by 52 million compared with 2006 and only the American continents have welcomed 6 million more guests than in 2006. In the meanwhile, Asia and Oceania have welcomed additional 17 million and the Europe - 19 million of tourists. The touristic market of the United States has grown by 10%, of the Central and South America - by 11% and 8% respectively. These positive indicators, motivated by the European currency strength and constant growth of the tourist traffic from USA have contrasted with insignificant growth in the Caribbean, including a slight regress in Cuba, tells WTO in their report. The world touristic industry has registered 898 millions of touristic visits in 2007 with the 6,2% increase compared with 846 millions of the 2006. And according to the prognoses of the organization, already in 2020 the first place in the top of the countries that have welcomed the most tourists - will take China. |
