In the northern part of Colombia, in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains a unique bird reserve has been opened with the name El Dorado. The creation of the reserve is the first step in the program of protection of rare species of flora and fauna of the region.
The guests can watch unique singing birds there, which can be seen only in this localities. El Dorado is located at the heights of 880-2500 meters above the sea level and has all the necessary conditions for the ecotourism, including lodging and restaurants. There is a magnificent mountain view to the Caribbean beaches and the Sierra-Nevada glaciers. Besides the unique birds in the reserve, you could see the butterflies and various mammals and also rare plant species. |
