On the 1-st of May the first testing automotive traffic has began in the east of China along the longest 36-kilometer bridge in the world, as the Chinese mass-media reports.
The bridge crosses the Hangzhou bay. The traffic will move at six lanes in both sides and the speed limit will be 100 kilometers per hour.
The creation of this unique construction in the Zhejiang province has began in 2003 and 14 billion Yuan (2 billion dollars) has been spent. The bridge will shorten the distance between the industrial zone of the large city-port Ninbo and Shanghai by 120 kilometers. |
