Amsterdam currency exchanges do not buy dollars

18 Mar. 2008

The currency exchange rate of the US dollar to the euro falls in such rapid tempo, that the small Amsterdam currency exchange points refuse to accept the national currency from the USA tourists.

According to the tourists, dollars are of no more value here. It is hard to find an exchange point, where these could be exchanged, so they have to do it at the post or at the railway station.

Small currency exchange points are worried that the dollars that were bought from the tourists will be cheaper to that moment when the exchange point could sell them themselves.

On the 17-th of March, the dollar has reached the record mark in relation to the euro - 1,58.
