The European Committee has decided to renounce the introduction of the fixed luggage size that a passenger can take with him aboard.
The experts came to a conclusion that the discomfort that this measure will result will overweight the use of this for the security control services.
At the same time the European Commission has left the right to set up the size of the hand luggage to the airlines.
Earlier, in October 2006 the European Union has considered the normative of the hand luggage. According to these norms, the maximum size of the hand luggage, excluding some specific items, for example, musical instruments, was 56 x 45 x 25 centimeters.
Besides, it has been set up that the passengers cannon transport more than 100 milliliters in one container. The containers for the liquids should have been packed into transparent plastic bags. These requirements have been borrowed from the International Air Transport Association. |
