The authorities of the Italian city of Florence are planning to create "pub angels" squad that will fight with the excessive alcohol consumption among the students from England and the locals.
The tasks of the "pub angels" consist of patrolling of the local bars and squares during the evenings. In case they find the visitors that drank too much, the "pub angels" could call police or other emergency services.
The "pub angels" can be recognized by the light-colored clothes and their presence in the drinking establishments, according to the idea of the authorities, will restrain not only the visitors from excessive alcohol consumption, but also the barmen that will not serve such clients anymore.
The squad of the "angels" will be composed from the volunteers and their work will be paid by the owners of the drinking establishments. According to the authorities - everybody will win from this - the hard drinking in Florence will be lowered and in the establishments there will be more order and they will not lose their clients. |
