A family forgot a two years old kid in Vancouver airport

18 May. 2008

A family of immigrants from the Philippines has forgotten their 23-months old son in Vancouver airport, changing the flights.

The parents of the child and also his grandma and grandpa were making the 10-minutes flight change during their flights to Canada. According to the words of the father, he thought that the son is with the grandparents and those in their turn have supposed that the kid is with the parents.

The boy in the meanwhile has been wandering on alone around the airport building as if he were in the "Home Alone" movie. He did not talk English, what has made the work of the airport security offices really difficult. The kid also did not have a boarding pass and there was no information about him in all the data of the passengers that have already passed the registration. There were no people looking for him, because the relatives were sitting in various parts of the plane and could not communicate to notice the absence of the kid.

In the end, the employees of the airline came to a conclusion that one of the checked in passengers could be a relative of the boy and got in touch with the cabin crew of the plane and found the diffused parents. They arranged a phone call between them and the kid. The father got with the next flight back to Vancouver and took his sun with tears on his eyes, thanking the collaboratives of the airline for their job.
