The airline passengers in the whole world are flying significantly less with the first class during their business trips. The turnover of the transportation in this class has fallen by 3,9 percent, what is the greatest fall since 2003.
Partially, the calm down is caused by the Easter holidays, but this time the decrease has appeared to be more serious than in the previous years. The most significant decrease have been observed at the internal European flights and at the routes, connecting Europe and Far East. This became more surprising, because of the sharply increased trade turnover between the regions.
At the same time, the volumes of the transatlantic transportation in the business class remains at the same level. The indicators of the routes over the Pacific are also at the same position. This can be explained by the increase of the export volumes from USA to the countries of the Asian-Pacific region.
At the beginning of June IATA will issue a detailed report about the results of the activity in the passenger transportation industry for the last year and a forecast for the year 2008. |
