The Mexican silver coin with the image of the national Coat of the Arms and the Aztec calendar has been considered the most beautiful in the world. As the Finance and State Credit ministry reports, the decision of the awarding of this honored title have been taken by the members of the World mints conference that has taken place in South Korea.
The cost of the collection coin is not stated. As they tell in the ministry, the coin has attracted the attention of the international jury not only with it's beauty, but also with the complexity of the technical creation. It is not an easy task to reproduce at the quite small coin the details of the 24-ton heavy Aztec monolith "Sun Stone", which diameter is more than 3,5 meters.
The copies of the "most beautiful coin in the world" can be bought in the Mexican Central Bank and at the Mint. They are accompanied with a certificate that assures the origin and a booklet with the comments of the expert society. The financial bureau tells that this coin has been appreciated by the collectors numismatists. |
