Smartphones and pocket PC will be taken away in the British entertainment park.

29 May. 2008

The British Alton Towers entertainment park in Staffordshire has introduced a new rule: if the visitors will be noticed while using pocket computers like Palm and iPaq and also all other pocked computers including smartphones, these gadgets will be taken away and given back to the visitor only at the exit. To provide the maintenance of this rule a special additional squad has been ordered.

The rule has been introduced for the time of the spring school vacations that take place in England in the end of May. If it does not affect the visitors traffic of the park that attracts about 2,5 million guests each year, the restriction of pocket PC usage can become permanent.

As the director of the park tells, it is very important that the parents with children could at least for some short time distract from the everyday and tried to get as much pleasure from the rest as possible.
