"How to evade British tourists" - new handbook for the tourists

5 Jun. 2008

The German daily newspaper Bild has published a handbook on how to evade the British tourists during the holiday. The reason for the publication was the scandal with a British tourist that has sued the tour agency, seeking compensation for the spoiled holiday in Greece, among the Germans. The court has taken decision in favor of the 47-years old David Barnish and the tour company has paid him 750 pounds (949 euro).

The author of the article in Bild has asked a lawyer if a German tourist can apply to the court with a similar complaint. The answer was negative, because the German laws do not foresee such situations.

The answer of the lawyer became another additional reason why the German red top has published a guide how to evade British tourists. The content tells about the places, beloved by the Britons that a German tourist should stay away from: Palma de Mallorca, San Antonio, Ibiza, Playa de Las Americas at Tenerife, Ayia Napa at Cyprus, Faliraki at Rhodes and Malia at Crete.

Besides, the article makes fun of some British traits, dressing manner, culinary preferences, attitude to alcohol and sportive defeats.

As the conclusion, the red top writes that "fortunately, this summer Austria and Switzerland will be the zones that are free of Britons", implying that the British football players didn't qualify for the European Championship.
