A new kind of tourists has appeared in China, that visit the places, destroyed because of the earthquake in the Sichuan province. According to the approximate calculations of the Chinese mass media, there are about a million of people that came from another country regions to the site of the earthquake and not all of them came to help the victims.
The rescuers actually do not need now additional help and sometimes the presence of outsiders sometimes makes their work more difficult. Besides, the excessive vehicles create problems on the roads and the extra consumers deprive the survivors of the necessary resources.
Most of the curious spend their holidays in the former epicenter of the quake, walking around the destroyed cities, taking pictures at the ruins of the schools and houses and exploring the closed sights. The Sangan authorities has appealed to the citizens with a request to restrain from trips to the site of disaster if they are not the specialists, whose help could be necessary to the victims. |
