A football ball has paralyzed trains in the Netherlands

24 Jun. 2008

An orange ball with the diameter of ten meters has been blown down by the strong wind from the roof of the building near the railway station in the Haag and has disturbed the trains schedule for several hours.

It is interesting that the ball had an inscription on it - "Netherlands - the European Champion" that became not more actual after the defeat of the "Orange" in the match with Russia in the 1/4 final. The machinist of the first train that has met the giant ball has barely managed to brake. The passengers had to be transported to the nearest station with buses.

The fallen ball has not been reinstalled to the roof again. Instead of this it has been transported to the warehouse where it will remain till the next large football event.
