Air India takes care about the look of the stewardesses

11 Jun. 2008

According to the High Delhi Court (India) the state airline Air India has the right not to admit the obese stewardesses to the flights. Five stewardesses of the Air India airline have sued the company because they have not been admitted to the flights because of the excessive weight. But the High Court has agreed with the opinion of the company management that thinks that the obese members of the cabin crew do not comply with the health and security requirements. Besides, the judges have noted that in this industry branch, where the competition is quite high, the appear and physical state of the stewardesses are of great importance. The Air India stewardesses are dresses in traditional Indian sari clothes. There is a list of private airlines that compete with Air India that hire young stewardesses dressed in skirts or suits as in the whole world.
