A research performed for the VisitSweden touristic development agency has revealed that the foreign tourists consider Sweden to be the best Scandinavian direction. The project consisted of the monitoring of the popular touristic forums, discussion boards in the internet in English, German, Danish, Norwegian and Swedish languages. Among the others, the reviews of the foreign travelers were analyzed on such web-sites as Tripadvisor, Virtual Tourist and Lonely Planet. Such a kind of research is quite new for the tourism and gives a relatively exact image about the opinion of the tourists about one or other direction.
Foreign tourists especially appreciate the sightseeings, excursions, night life, shopping and cultural events in Sweden. Special attention was paid to the combination of the Scandinavian nature and city culture of Stockholm and also the landscapes in the north of Sweden. The touristic forums visitors think that the friendliness of the local population also positively distinguishes Sweden among her Scandinavian neighbors. |
