Snowboard considered the most dangerous activity in USA

Snowboard stands at the top of the trauma rating among all other types of active recreation. The recent report of the diseases control and prophylactic center notes that 25% of all the emergencies are caused by the snowboarders. The second dangerous sport is sledging - 11% and the third is walking - 6%.

The researchers have analyzed the data about traumas during active rest of 63 hospitals for the years 2004 and 2005 that had no lethal outcomes. About 213 thousands people are getting injured in this way yearly in America.

Two thirds of the victims are men. The researchers cannot tell if this is linked with the fact that men like risk more, or maybe they are more active on holiday.

The age of more that the half of the victims is from 10 to 24. The most popular traumas are fractures and strains - this is about a half of the cases and about seven percent make up the concussions of the brain and other head traumas.

This is the first research in the USA that considers not only the separate kinds of active rest and separate districts, but the whole active rest. The scientists make no serious conclusions and give only general recommendations about planning and appreciation of your personal fitness.
