The Austrian parliament has restricted the law that regulates smoking in public catering places. The establishments with the total area of more than 80 square meters should allocate smoking zones. The owners of cafes with the area less than 50 square meters should decide on their own - if they arrange a separate compartment for the smokers or forbid tobacco smoking at all.
What about the restaurants with the area between 50 and 80 square meters, there the possibility of the creation of the smoker's zone will be determined by the authorities. If they will concern it impossible to create a separate area - the owners of the establishment will have the choice - make it completely for smokers or for non-smokers.
In the zones that are dedicated for smokers in the restaurants and bars - special signs should be placed, that inform visitors about the harm that bring tobacco and tobacco smoke. |
