Already for the last five years in the Finnish city of Lappeenranta they build the biggest sandcastle in the country. This impressing construction is being edified each summer by the sculptors at the shores of the Saima lake that is one of the largest lakes in Europe. This year the main theme of the sandcastle became the "Wild West".
The visitors can find there a barber's shop, a laundry, shops, jail, post wagon, horse relay, an Indian camp and robbers attacking the train. About 3 thousands tons of sand have been used to build all the constructions of the sandcastle.
It is located in the city port of Lappeenranta and will remain there till the 31-st of Augurs. The sculpture is open for visits from 10 a.m till 9 p.m and the entrance is free of charge. |
