Rafael Lozano-Hemmer - a Mexican artist - plans to arrange a grandiose show in London. One of the British capital symbols will be lit in November with more than 110000 light bulbs that will throw huge shadows at all the pedestrians. A video will also be projected to these shadows that consists of the images of the inhabitants of various English cities like Derby, Lester, Lincoln, Northampton and Nottingham.
According to the ideal of Lozano-Hemmer, some of the people will dance, some will be dressing off and some will protect the homeless.
The show of the Mexican will become one of the largest video installations of the world and will represent the yearly festival project of the artistic London lighting, that will become a kind of an open air museum according to the idea of the organizers. |
