The largest European budget airline Ryanair suggests to introduce flights with the total prohibition of luggage check-in. The norms of the hand-luggage will remain the same - one item with the weight of not more than 10 kilograms and with the measures: 55 x 40 x 20 centimeters. The airline hopes to reduce the turnover time of their planes in this way.
The first flights of this kind are planned to be launched in October. These will be the flights mostly with business-passengers that are headed to a business trip and don't have much luggage. The usual flights will also be performed on that directions. The airline has earlier already announced that will deny the boarding and refund to those that comes to any flight with oversize or overweight of the hand luggage. Ryanair has explained such strange measures with the intention to perform the boarding quicker and to keep themselves to the schedule, which exactness is critical for the airline. It's business is based upon the quick airplanes turnover that stay often only half an hour before the next flight. |
