According to the results of the year 2007, the Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta, USA became the busiest one in the world, having served 89 million passengers.
This data has been published by the International Airports Service in Geneva last week.
The second place went to the Chicago O'Hare, that has served 76 millions of guests. Among the non-American airports is the London Heathrow that has passed through 62 millions of passengers. By the way, this airport is the busiest one in the international flights rating and it is followed by the Parisian Charles de Gaulle that has served 55 million people. After that follow Amsterdam (48 million), Frankfurt (47 million) and Hong-Kong (46 million).
4,8 billion of passengers have checked in for their flights last year in all the airports of the world, what is by 6,8% more that in the year before. The greatest increase of the passenger traffic is registered in the Middle East - 11,3%, followed by Africa (11,2%) and in the Asian-Pacific region (9,1%). The slowest growth has been registered in North America - 3,5%. |
