In the capital of Spain an exhibition of the archaeological finds was opened. All the items were found during the reconstruction of the M-30 main circle highway. The mayor of Madrid Alberto Ruiz Gallardon at the opening ceremony said that the exhibition will be "a present from the constructors to all the lovers of the ancient times".
Among the 250 exhibits, there are bones of the prehistoric animals that lived near the river Mansanares, instruments of labor and other items from the everyday of the prehistoric mankind, the remains of the mosaic decorations from a Roman Empire villa, ceramics and weapons of the west-goth period and the evidences of the the civil war battles in Spain.
The exhibition takes place in the Historic Museum of Madrid, in the so-called House of the saint Isidor. The financing of the fair, that had the budget around 260 thousands Euro, has been organized by the construction companies that performed the reconstruction of the highway. |
