Please do not stare at monkeys in Antwerp Zoo

19 Apr. 2007

In the Antwerp Zoo among with the traditional "Please do not feed the animals", comes the "please, stop staring at the chimpanzees". Such warning is hanged at the cages with primates. According to the opinion of the zoo staff, their disciples are getting sad and withdrawn because of the intent glances of the visitors. They propose that the visitors should look away and step back if the monkey looks at the guests.

This zealous care for the wellness of the monkeys has embarrassed the visitors of this Belgian zoo. The request not to stare at the monkeys is taken as a joke. They do not understand what sense it makes to visit the zoo not looking at the animals in there. One of the visitors says - "The next thing they do is invite a psycholog for the monkeys".
